''Find a way or make one''
This blog is a window to my photographic mind. I have discovered a love for all things creative and beautiful. I do not read the books, I do not conform to the instructions. I let my mind run with my camera. Light travels in straight lines..... but I like to try and bend the rules. ~I love playing with light~

London Fashion Week 2011
London Fashion Week was an experience to say the least. Rushing up to London from my day job not knowing what to expect, I stumbled across an array of finely dressed fashionistas being herded into the military organised Catwalks. Even the 'Vitamin' water bottles had their place, arranged in colour order along the rows of crisp white seats spanning either side of the main walkway.
The photographer pit was a interesting to say the least. The space was marked off into tiny squares that somehow photographers had to fit themselves into. Some kicked others out of their mark-up minutes before a show started, some nestled neatly in between a sea of tripods and camera cases, some fell off step ladders at the back and some simply were not lucky enough to get a spot at all. Jammy me managed to perch myself politely in the front row 2 people off centre.
LFW was not short of celebrities. One of my jobs was to pap them and being as I don't generally know who is in this weeks Celebirity magazine it was a case of following the flashes and getting sandwiched between bolshy photographers needing their money shot.
Luckily papping celebs as a girl photographer had its plus points. I found quite a few A listers tended to look my way as opposed to looking towards the sweaty alpha photographer repeatedly saying their name to get them to look at the lens.

I was stood on the Catwalk watching who was coming in when I looked to the side of me and realised Muhammaed Al Fayed was at my side. The paparazzi had not spotted him and stealing a chance I politely asked for a photo. As soon as my flash went off the photography vultures charged towards him. Already having got my photo I moved to my minuscule mark-up and got ready for the next show.
Needless to say sitting back at my desk Monday morning, getting on with my day job was a severe flatline moment.

Ha Long Bay...............
Imagine an sitting on the edge of old pirate ship style boat with your feet hanging over the edge. Sailing into the sunset. Jamie Woon - Spirits playing on the Ipod. Imagine complete calm. Imagine complete and utter beauty. Imagine having that feeling of having achieved something that always frightened you. Travelling alone........
This photo is the memory of all of the above.
Ha Long Bay is quite frankly, out of this world

Good times..................
Kane FM has been part of my life since early 2010. Pretty much for the length of time I have been taking photos. These photos where taken during the very first live show.
Being only one of a small handful of stations in the UK to ever be granted legal broadcasting rights, last Friday Kane FM went live on 103.7

A DECADE in the making, Guildford-based Kane FM is celebrating being granted a five-year community radio licence by Ofcom.
Ofcom said: “Kane FM will be a radio service to support the local community in Guildford.
“Its primary focus is 15 to 39-year-old fans of independent (mainly urban) music and it will provide an outlet for showcasing local talented artists and musicians.
“The station will provide opportunities for individuals in the community to become involved with the station and will serve as a way for local events to be promoted to the wider community.”
Kane FM started life as a pirate radio station in the early 1990s, later going on to enjoy a successful 28-day RSL (restricted service licence) in 2004.
Since then the station has been focused on its lengthy community radio licence bid, at the same time maintaining its presence as a brand in the Guildford area through the Kane FM Presents… nights and involvement in the StreetCLASH and Suburban Sprawl events among others.
"Something special"
A delighted Ian Handy said: “It is with great pleasure and immense pride that we can tell the people, our steadfast team and impending listeners, that Kane have been awarded the five-year FM licence.
Good vibes :-)
Jazzy M made his own bit of history by being the first DJ to publicly Broadcast on the KaneFM airwaves.

Night Ghouls and Shapeshifters................
It seems that Halloween will soon fall upon us. PERFECT excuse to get some twisted horror photos in. Lucky for me my house mate Ash has swung over to the dark side recently, preparing props for our Halloween/house warming..........he is the perfect person to bounce twisted ideas off of.
The theme is 'Twisted Fantasy'. Roping in my fellow Meerkats.........I think we may have pulled this one off :-)

Every picture has a story........
I've spent a lot of time recently contemplating how to display the photos that I take to people. I could have spent a whole lot of money getting a wizz kid to formulate some sort of epic website but then to me, it becomes more business like and quite frankly I'm in it more for the love than the money. My house mate Phil suggested I start a blog..... strangely enough, something I hadn't even thought about.
So here we are........this is going to be my internet photo megaphone. Its taken me 3 hours to even remotely come close to actually getting my head around putting one together. Nothing is ever straight forward. I mean WTF is Favicon??
Im not too sure how I will blog on this blog. It may even blog me off enough to steer clear and carry on using facebook to display my pictures but I'm going in, taking the bull by the horns and getting my game face on!
So here is my first picture
Taken in Siem Reap in Cambodia earlier on this year.
I was taken to a remote village school that I literally thought Bear Grylls would have to throw me over his shoulder to negotiate me through and over the non existent road and into Cambodias 'outback' just so that I would be able to have this awesome experience of backpacking far off the beaten track.
These children rarely have the experience of ever sighting a westerner, let alone one that must have looked like a monolith towering above them with a big camera. The little girl in the middle had me mesmerised. She was beautiful and so innocent to life. These children have nothing.
Its photos like these that truly distinguish the rich from the poor and the materialistic from the spiritual.
There we are, my blog has officially begun.
